Create and manage warehouses, and link them to shops
What you will have: Your storage places exist in Genuka and each shop sells from the right warehouse.
You know where each item is, and a shop only sells what it really has on hand.
Before you start
Why it matters
A storeroom, a central depot or the back of the shop: until Genuka tells them apart, you do not know where your goods are. With one warehouse per place, the stock of each place is tracked separately. The link between warehouse and shop then decides what each point of sale can sell.
Summary
A warehouse is a place where you keep goods: storeroom, depot, back room. All Genuka stock is organized by warehouse, and a shop sells what is in the warehouses linked to it. When your business was created, Genuka made a first shop and a first warehouse, already linked to each other.

/shops). - Open the shop and find the Warehouses field ("Link one or more warehouses to this shop").
- Add the warehouse with the search bar, then save the shop.
Shop or business: the scope of a warehouse
| Case | Effect |
|---|---|
| Warehouse linked to a shop | The shop sells from this warehouse. Members linked to that shop see its stock. |
| Warehouse linked to several shops | These shops share the same stock. |
| Warehouse linked to no shop | Business-wide warehouse. Only administrators and accounts with the global.view_all_stocks permission can see it. |
What each person sees in Inventory & Stocks also depends on the active shop (Switch Shop). An account that must always see the stock of all shops needs the global.view_all_stocks permission.
Fields and options
| Field | Purpose | Required |
|---|---|---|
| Name | How the warehouse appears in lists, transfers and entries | yes |
| Description | Free note | no |
| Phone | Contact for the place | no |
| Address, city, country | Location of the place | no |
Edge cases and common mistakes
- "I can't see my warehouse in the list." It is linked to a shop your account is not linked to, or it is linked to no shop and your account does not have
global.view_all_stocks. - "My new warehouse's stock does not sell." The warehouse is linked to no shop. Link it from Settings › Company › Shops.
- Deleting a warehouse does not move its stock. Deletion is permanent. First transfer the stock it holds to another warehouse (see "Transfer stock between warehouses").
- Editing or deleting a warehouse is refused to a member who is neither an administrator nor linked to that warehouse, even with
warehouses.*.
FAQ
Can I have a single stock for two shops? Yes: link the same warehouse to both shops. They will sell from the same stock.
What is a warehouse without a shop for? A central depot that does not sell directly. You receive goods there, then transfer them to the shops' warehouses.
