Plans, AI tokens and messaging credits, what you pay for and why
What you will have: You know what your subscription, your AI tokens and your messaging credits cover, where to see each balance and how to top it up.
You plan your Genuka spending and avoid a campaign or the assistant stopping for lack of balance at the wrong moment.
Before you start
- Lesson « Genuka in 10 minutes, everything you can manage in one place »
- Each message sent uses messaging credits
- Each AI answer uses AI tokens
- Part of a paid plan
Why it matters
Genuka is paid in three ways, for three different uses. Mixing them up leads to bad surprises: an up-to-date subscription does not stop the AI assistant from halting if tokens run out, and tokens do not pay for a WhatsApp campaign. Knowing who pays for what keeps you from blocking the team at the wrong moment.

Before you start
- Paying the subscription: see "Choose, change and pay for your plan". Renewing from the banner is reserved for administrators.
- Buying AI tokens:
subscription.manageorinbox.*permission (administrators have them). Viewing the balance:agent.access. - Buying messaging credits: access to the Marketing page (
marketing.*).
The subscription
The subscription gives access to Genuka for a period. Each plan sets what is included: number of users, shops and warehouses, modules (accounting, website, WhatsApp, automations...). The plans page compares them in a Detailed feature comparison.
- At sign-up, the business starts with a trial period, usually 7 days.
- Before the due date, a banner at the top of the screen says "Expires in ... days" and offers Renew.
- After the due date, the dashboard opens the plans page instead of your screens, until payment.
The details are in "Choose, change and pay for your plan".
AI tokens
A token is a small unit that measures the work done by artificial intelligence: each time an AI reads a message and writes a reply, it uses some. The longer the reply, the more it needs.
The token wallet is single for the whole business. It is used by:
- the Genuka assistant (dashboard and WhatsApp);
- the Inbox AI agents that answer your customers;
- the Website Builder and content generation (texts, descriptions);
- voice note transcription and AI-generated reports.
See the balance and recharge:
- Menu › Communication › Inbox, Inbox Settings icon, AI tokens tab. The Genuka AI tokens screen shows the Current balance and the Recent activity (top-ups and usage).
- Recharge opens Buy AI tokens: pick a row of the list (5,000, 15,000 or 50,000 F, that is 5, 15 or 50 million tokens) or Other amount to type your own, from 5,000 F, then click Pay. If the screen still offers packs, pick one.
The same Recharge button is at the top of the assistant panel. When it is created, a business usually receives welcome tokens: check the balance before recharging.
When the balance is low, the assistant shows a warning; when it is empty, the assistant and the messaging AI agents stop until you recharge.
Messaging credits
Messaging credits are a prepaid balance, separate from AI tokens. They pay for:
- WhatsApp campaign messages: the cost per message and the estimated total show before sending. Credits are held when you launch; unsent messages are credited back at the end of the campaign;
- WhatsApp message templates sent from the Inbox or by an automation;
- WhatsApp calls, billed per minute once answered.
An ordinary reply to a customer in the Inbox, on WhatsApp or on the website chat, does not use any credit.
See the balance and recharge:
- Menu › Communication › Marketing: the CREDIT box shows the balance.
- Recharge opens Buy more credits: choose a pack. Payment opens in a new tab.
Edge cases and common mistakes
- "My subscription is paid but the assistant no longer answers." It is the AI tokens that have run out: recharge them.
- "I have tokens but my campaign won't send." A campaign uses messaging credits, not tokens.
- "Your account has been successfully recharged!" but the balance has not moved. This message shows as soon as the payment opens. Credits arrive once the payment is confirmed.
- "No pack available. Contact support." or "You are not allowed to recharge." The second message means your role cannot buy: ask an administrator.
FAQ
Are AI tokens included in the subscription? No, they are bought separately, in packs. You only pay for what the AI uses.
Do tokens or credits expire at the end of the subscription? The balance stays in the business's wallet; a renewal does not reset it to zero.
Who can see what the AI has used? The AI tokens tab lists every top-up and every use, with the balance after each operation.
