Customize the online store theme
What you will have: Your online store carries your colors, your texts and your images.
An online store that looks like your brand builds trust with customers who discover it.
Why it matters
An online store in default colors looks like every other one. The theme lets you pick a template, then add your logo, colors, texts and images, without a developer. Your products come straight from your Genuka catalog.
Summary
The theme sets the look of Genuka's online store (the site linked to your domains in the "My online store" section). You pick a template from those offered, activate it, then fill in its sections. The site created by the Website Builder AI agent is a different site: you do not set it up here, but by chatting with the agent.
Requirements
- The
website.*permission (manage the website). - Your images ready (logo, banner), in an image format.
Steps
1. Choose and activate a template
- Open Settings › Website › Website, then the Website Theme card.
- The Themes page shows the available templates, with a preview and their name.
- On a template you have never used, click Activate. It becomes your main template and the editor opens.
- On a template you have already used but that is not the main one, click Set as main to put it back online. The main template has a green badge.
Only one template is main at a time: activating another removes the previous one. The settings of each template are kept.
2. Fill in the sections
- On the template you want, click Customize.
- At the top, each pill is a section of the template (home, colors, fonts, contact, products…). Their list depends on the template.
- Click a section and fill in its fields: texts, colors (color picker), images (button to change the media), checkboxes, and lists of items (Add, Delete).
- Move from one section to another, then click Save at the bottom of the page. A single save stores all the sections.
Fields & options
| Field type | Use |
|---|---|
| Text | Titles, subtitles, button texts, links. |
| Color | Site colors, chosen in a picker. |
| Media | Image or video uploaded from your computer; iPhone HEIC photos are converted. |
| Checkbox | Turns an option on or off, for example showing the remaining stock on products or maintenance mode, depending on the template. |
| List | Repeated items (selling points, links…): Add creates one, Delete removes it. |
Edge cases & common mistakes
- Lost changes. Nothing is saved until you click Save. Leaving the page before that erases your changes.
- Section names in English. Sections and fields are described by the template itself. With some templates, they appear in English ("Hero section", "Colors"…), as do the main template badge and the confirmation messages.
- My AI site does not change. The theme only applies to the online store. For the Website Builder site, ask the agent for the change in its workspace.
- The site still shows the old template. Check that the template you customized is the main one (green badge). Customizing a template does not put it online.
FAQ
Can I change template without losing my settings? Yes. Settings stay attached to each template: if you go back to a template with Set as main, you find what you entered there.
How do I put my store in maintenance mode? If your template offers it, open its maintenance section ("Activation" in the default template), tick the box, then click Save.
Where do I change my products and prices? In your Genuka catalog. The theme sets the look, not the content of the catalog.
