Set up shipping fees

What you will have: Your delivery rates are saved and picked in one click on each order.

The same delivery is charged the same price by the whole team, and stock leaves from the warehouse that ships.

Why it matters

When each salesperson sets the delivery price by hand, two customers in the same area do not pay the same and typing mistakes pile up. A rate saved once is then picked from a list: the amount is always right, and Genuka knows which warehouse to take the goods from.

Summary

A shipping fee is a fixed rate, tied to a shop and to one or more warehouses. You create as many as you have zones or delivery types ("Downtown", "Outside the city", "Express"…). They are managed in Settings › Company › Shipping Fees.

Requirements

  • The shipping_fees.view right (or shipping_fees.*) to see the page.
  • At least one shop, with at least one warehouse.

Steps

  1. Open Settings › Company › Shipping Fees. The top of the screen shows Total shipping fees, Average fee and Shops covered, then the list of your rates.
  2. Click Create a shipping fee.
  3. Give it a Name that clearly says the zone or service, for example "Bonamoussadi delivery".
  4. Enter the Amount, in the shop's currency.
  5. Choose the Shop. This fee will only be offered for orders of this shop.
  6. Check the Warehouses. All the shop's warehouses are ticked by default; keep only those these deliveries leave from.
  7. Click Save. The rate's details open, with the list of Orders that used it.

To correct a rate, open it from the list then click Edit.

Use the rate on an order

On an order in Delivery mode, the Shipping fee section offers a Choose a shipping fee list with the rates of the order's shop. The amount of the chosen rate becomes the delivery amount. For a special case, tick Customize shipping amount and enter the amount by hand. If the shop has no rate, only the free amount field appears.

The Genuka AI assistant also uses these rates when it creates a delivered order.

Fields & options

FieldWhat it doesRequired
NameWhat the team and the customer see. Two rates of the same company cannot have the same name.yes
AmountFixed price of the delivery. The dashboard requires an amount above 0.yes
ShopShop whose orders can use this rate. A rate belongs to a single shop.yes
WarehousesWarehouses whose stock is removed when an order uses this rate. At least one.yes

Edge cases & common mistakes

  • There is no "zone" field and no calculation by weight or distance. A rate is a fixed amount. Create one rate per zone and put the zone in the name.
  • Free delivery is not created as a rate. The form refuses an amount of 0 ("Enter an amount greater than 0"). On the order, tick Customize shipping amount and leave 0.
  • The rate does not appear on an order. It belongs to a different shop than the order's. Create the same rate for each shop that delivers.
  • Stock does not leave from the right warehouse. Check the rate's Warehouses: they decide where the goods of an order delivered with this rate come from.
  • Saving is refused because of the name. The name must be unique in the company, even across two shops. Add the shop to the name ("Express – Akwa").
  • There is no switch to pause a rate. To stop offering it, delete it.
  • Deleting is permanent. The Delete this shipping_fee button (on the edit screen) is only visible to the Administrator and Manager roles. Past orders keep their delivery amount, but are no longer linked to the rate.

FAQ

Can I have different prices depending on the neighborhood? Yes: create one rate per neighborhood or zone, with the zone in the name. The salesperson picks the right one from the list.

Does changing a rate change old orders? No. The amount is saved on each order at the time it is placed.

Does the customer see these rates? Yes, when ordering online: these are the rates offered when choosing delivery.
