Record and track your expenses from WhatsApp

Discovery4 minChecked on 10/30/2026

What you will have: You record an expense by sending a photo or a sentence to the assistant on WhatsApp, and you ask it for your expenses.

Small expenses are entered when they happen, instead of being forgotten at month end.

Why this matters

Taxi, fuel or supply receipts get lost before they are entered. On WhatsApp, a photo or a sentence is enough: the assistant prepares the expense, you confirm it, and it joins your figures in the dashboard.

The Genuka assistant on WhatsApp is the expense tracking on WhatsApp: you write to it, it records the expense in the account, and you ask it for your expenses whenever you want.

Recording an expense

  • By photo: send the photo of the till receipt or the invoice. The assistant reads the amount, the lines and the date, then asks for what is missing (the currency, the payment method).
  • In one sentence: "Expense 15,000 F transport paid in cash", "Electricity bill 45,000 F paid by Wave".
  • The assistant presents the expense before recording it: a tap on Save expense confirms it. It then appears in Expenses in the dashboard.

Tracking your expenses

  • "How much did I spend this month?", "My expenses this week by type", "Which supplier invoices are unpaid?": the assistant answers with the account's figures.
  • The detail can still be viewed in Expenses (/bills) in the dashboard.

Good to know

  • The account must have the right to create expenses; otherwise the assistant says so, and an administrator can grant it in Settings › Roles & Permissions.
