Manage the team's working hours and days off
What you will have: Each professional's working hours and days off are saved, and customers are only offered real free slots.
A customer can no longer book an hour when nobody is there, which avoids appointments to cancel or move.

Why it matters
A booking page is only reliable if it knows everyone's real hours. In Genuka, each team member has a typical week (the ranges when they work) and their days off. The booking page only offers the customer the slots that fall within those ranges, outside days off and outside appointments already booked.
Summary
Availability is set per person, in the Availability tab of their profile. There are two blocks: Unavailability (whole days off) and User availability (the typical week, day by day).
Requirements
- To set a colleague's hours: access to Settings › Company › Team (
users.viewright). - For your own hours: no particular right, go through Menu › Advanced › My Account.
Steps
1. Open the professional's profile
- For a colleague: Settings › Company › Team, then click the person.
- For yourself: Menu › Advanced › My Account.
Open the Availability tab.
2. Set the typical week
In the User availability block:
- For each working day, enter a start time and an end time.
- Add a time slot adds a second range on the same day: this is how you leave a lunch break (for example 08:00–12:00 then 14:00–18:00).
- A day without a range is shown as Closed: no appointment will be offered on it.
- Copy to other days copies a day's ranges: tick the target days (or Select all), then Apply.
- Click Save. The button stays greyed out while a range ends before (or at the moment) it starts, or two ranges on the same day overlap.
3. Declare days off
In the Unavailability block:
- Click Add unavailable days.
- Select one or more days in the calendar (past days cannot be selected).
- Click Save selected dates.
Saved days appear as pills. To remove one, click its pill (Click to remove).
How Genuka calculates the slots offered
For a given service and day, Genuka goes through each of the professional's ranges in steps of service duration + buffer time. A slot is offered if it fits entirely within the range, does not overlap any of the professional's appointments, and, for today, is not already past. A day of unavailability offers no slot.
Example: a 09:00–12:00 range, a 45-minute service and a 15-minute buffer time give the slots 09:00, 10:00 and 11:00.
Fields & options
| Item | What it does |
|---|---|
| Time range (start, end) | Period worked on a day of the week. Several ranges per day are possible. |
| Closed | A day with no range at all. |
| Copy to other days | Copies a day's ranges onto other days. |
| Unavailability | Whole days off (leave, sickness…). No half-days. |
Edge cases & common mistakes
- A professional without hours has no online slot. As long as their typical week is empty, the booking page offers nothing for them.
- Saving replaces the whole week. The ranges shown when you click Save replace the old ones: what you erased is gone.
- No half-day absence. An unavailability covers the whole day. To block a few hours, edit the typical week or book the slot from the calendar.
- Bookings entered by the team do not check hours. From the calendar or an order, Genuka refuses a professional who is absent that day or already busy, but it accepts a time outside their working ranges.
- Allowing overlaps. In Settings › Company › Global Settings, Orders tab, the Allow overlapping hours in services box lifts these refusals for bookings: a professional can then have two appointments at the same time, or an appointment on a day off.
- A canceled appointment can still block its slot. A canceled appointment (for example by the customer from webchat) stays recorded: the public booking page does not offer that slot again, and a new booking entered by the team at the same time is refused, unless overlaps are allowed.
FAQ
Can an employee set their own hours? Yes, from Menu › Advanced › My Account, Availability tab.
Are the hours the same for all services? Yes. Hours belong to the person, not the service: all the services they perform share the same ranges.
How do I close a public holiday for the whole team? There is no global closure: add that day in each professional's Unavailability.
